Icelandic Photographer Örvar A. Þorgeirsson

I participated in a summer photography tour of Iceland co-led by Orvar and another Icelandic photographer. Since then, I have been following them on the social media. They posted fantastic images of their native country regularly.

Orvar has recently revamped his website which gave me the opportunity to check out many of his excellent images.

Overall, I love the clarity and vibrance of all his images. Among my favorites are the images of geothermal landscape and volcano eruptions. The winter aurora images are very impressive too. They captured the surreal and unusual Icelandic phenomena that are hard to find in the rest of the world.

In terms of style, my favorite ones are those with movements and energy. There are also a few dramatic atmospheric shots that really draw me in. Below are a few of my favorites taken from his portfolio selections.
